Catapult

Catapult redefines point-to-point frame data transfers and uncompressed frame review, catapult™ provides the world’s fastest point-to-point frame transfers using gigabit Ethernet connections. catapult™ is capable of delivering the same local throughput performance of its storage arrays out to connected systems utilising standard networking infrastructure. Redefining networked media transfers and review, the Catapult suite of products delivers unprecedented point-to-point performance by utilizing standard networking infrastructure. The Catapult protocol addresses the shortcomings of common network protocols and bridges the gap between local and wide area transfers which extends to film scanning and remote review of uncompressed frame sequences. Using any Ethernet or InfiniBand connections, Catapult is capable of delivering the same local throughput performance of storage arrays out to connected systems. Disk fragmentation caused by out-of-order block writes to disk arrays is a major problem for most storage vendors. Flipstream

Flipstream is an uncompressed frame review application utilising Catapult Technology. It is easily capable of streaming 4K resolution, 10-bit uncompressed frames directly from Catapult 4K. Typically, for uncompressed real time review, a studio relies on either a shared SAN connected review system or copying the relevant frames to the local storage array on a dedicated review system. The first method requires a powerful, concurrent I/O SAN or DAS, the latter a lengthy data transfer. Neither is cost effective in terms of both time and money. Flipstream eliminates uncompressed frame duplication to a dedicated high end review station and instead allows any user with a standard workstation1 to stream frames directly from any Catapult system.

Dart

Dart is a web-based transfer client for Catapult Server. It provides administrators a simple but powerful web-driven user management interface via Control and gives their clients a matching "look and feel" of their corporate website. In conjunction with Ballista, Dart offers a secure low cost solution for replacing difficult to manage in-house ftp servers. Ideal for solutions that do not require higher privileges to install plug-ins or native client applications, Dart is entirely based around easy access via 'https'. Simply style Dart to match the 'look and feel' of your corporate website and link it from your home page. Using Catapult Control customers can easily set up new users, lock them to their private directory, set individual upload and download bandwidth limits and monitor current transfers. Administrator are able to email access and account details to their clients directly from the Control interface when setting up new account. Comprehensive transfer reports for each user are also provided for monitoring and billing purposes.
