RMIT Racing is a 130-student strong, completely student run team who design, engineer and manufacture an open wheel formula style race car to compete in the Formula SAE Australasia competition each December. The team has an impressive history with a world championship victory in 2007 and are Australia’s longest running Formula SAE team, celebrating their 20th year in 2019. The team allows its members the opportunity to connect the dots between the classroom and the racetrack by providing them with practical engineering opportunities that prepare them for life in the workforce.

For 2019, XENON has partnered with RMIT Racing and Leap Australia, providing the team with High Performance Computers for their Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations using ANSYS Fluent software. These HPCs have allowed them to cut down simulation time by up to 75%. The result of these super-fast nodes is that the aerodynamics team can now explore many more innovative concepts that are at the cutting edge of Formula SAE engineering.
